Where is Byron Jones?

Byron Jones

A Peaceful Town Faces a Serious Crisis

Missing person in Georgia. Canton, Georgia – A quiet community is now on high alert. Byron Jones, 85, left home Monday evening and never returned. He drove off around 6:00 PM on April 21 from 118 Rock Creek Lane.

Since then, there’s been no contact. No phone. No direction. His family is worried, and police have issued a Mattie’s Call, Georgia’s emergency system for missing seniors with cognitive challenges.

Byron Jones Left in a Blue Camry

Byron was last seen driving a dark blue Toyota Camry with license plate TBX7562. He doesn’t own a cell phone. His family says that’s usual for him, but this situation is anything but normal.

Unfortunately, Byron lives with Dementia, and he takes medication daily to stay stable. Without it, he may become confused or disoriented. That makes every passing hour more dangerous.

“This has never happened before,” his daughter said. “He always stays close to home.”

Last Sighting Was in Jasper

Roughly two hours after leaving home, a Flock camera caught his vehicle near downtown Jasper at 7:40 PM. That’s more than 25 miles away from his house.

Because of this, law enforcement expanded the search. Officers in Pickens, Jasper, and the Georgia State Patrol are working together. The Canton Police also sent out a BOLO alert (Be On the Lookout) across nearby counties.

Why Time Is Against Him

Byron Jones is well-known and loved in Canton. Neighbors call him kind, quiet, and respectful. But his mind is fragile. He may not know he’s lost. Streets he once knew might feel unfamiliar now.

Even worse, he has no way to call for help. There’s no GPS. No phone. No voice message. Only his car and a fading sense of direction.

As a result, he could be anywhere—parked along a road, sitting at a diner, or even walking aimlessly.

How You Can Help Right Now

Please keep watch for the blue Toyota Camry, plate TBX7562. Look at parking lots, side streets, rest stops, and gas stations. Even a single glance could lead to something.

If you spot the car or Byron himself, call 678-493-4080 immediately. That’s the number for Cherokee County Emergency Services. Don’t assume someone else will report it. Your call might be the one that saves him.

This Is Bigger Than One Town

Dementia doesn’t wait. Medication doesn’t last forever. His window for safety is closing.

However, the community is not giving up. People are searching. Flyers are spreading. The alert is active. What’s needed now is action.

Please stay alert. Please keep looking. Let’s bring Byron Jones home.
