Disappearance in South Kingstown: Where Is Eric Wein?

Eric Wein

Vanished Without a Trace

Missing person in Rhode Island. A quiet Rhode Island town is now the center of a growing mystery. Authorities are searching for Eric Wein, a 31-year-old man from Massachusetts who vanished earlier this month. The South Kingstown Police Department is now working closely with Mansfield Police to uncover the truth.

Eric was officially reported missing by his family to Mansfield Police on April 18, 2025. But his disappearance started long before that.

Who Is Eric Wein?

Eric is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing between 160 and 170 pounds. He has light brown hair, brown eyes, and a very distinctive pirate ship tattoo on his left shoulder.

Friends describe Eric as quiet but adventurous. He loves road trips and often travels alone. However, his disappearance feels out of character. He never contacted friends or family. His phone has remained off since early April.

The Towed Car Clue

On April 10, Eric’s vehicle was discovered illegally parked on Ocean Road, a scenic stretch in South Kingstown. It was towed. He was nowhere in sight. That abandoned vehicle now marks the last confirmed link to his location.

Why was it left there? Where did Eric go?

Police believe the car may have been parked for several hours—possibly longer. However, no witnesses have come forward, and surveillance footage remains scarce. This is where local help becomes vital

Police Request Local Help

The South Kingstown Police are asking residents of Ocean Road to check their surveillance or doorbell cameras. Even a brief recording—someone walking, a voice, or a silhouette—might provide new leads.

If your property faces the road or nearby beach access, your footage could be critical. Investigators are especially interested in videos from April 9–11.

Family Desperate for Answers

Eric’s family is growing more concerned each day. His sister, Lauren, described him as someone who would never disappear without a reason. “He always texted us. Always,” she said. “This silence is terrifying.”

They have posted flyers across South Kingstown and Mansfield. Social media posts are being shared widely, urging others to keep an eye out for his tattoo or his face.

Still, there have been no credible sightings.
