Details of Disappearance Ackerman was last seen in Lochbuie, Colorado on August 23, 2018. Her husband stated she was asleep in the bedroom at their residence in the 100 block of Poplar Street when he left for the day at 5:00 a.m. When he came back, she was gone, and all her belongings, including her cellular phone, wallet, identification, debit card, keys and car, were left behind at the home. Only her medication was missing. She has never been heard from again. Ackerman visited her daughter, Ambyr Carolus, on the day of her disappearance. She was acting normally at the time, although she did seem "down on herself." She left Carolus's home at 4:30 p.m. Three hours later, Ackerman called Carolus, upset and crying and saying she could not watch her grandchildren the next day. She said she hadn't slept in awhile, and Carolus told her to go to sleep. The next day, Ackerman's husband went to Carolus's home to watch her children, saying he and Ackerman did not want to leave her without child care arrangements. Carolus's husband had already taken the day off of work to watch them, however, and Ackerman's husband left at 1:30 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., her husband called Carolus to say she was missing and he'd filed a police report. It's uncharacteristic of Ackerman to leave without warning or to be out of touch with her loved ones. Carolus stated she lived a quiet life and enjoyed reading books, watching television and spending time with her grandchildren. Her case remains unsolved. Details of Disappearance Abercrombie was last seen in Brooksville, Kentucky on June 13, 2013. She left home, saying she'd return later. It's possible she was en route to the Cincinnati, Ohio area. She never returned and has never been heard from again. That same day, her car was found at the park and pool at Johnsville, along Kentucky 9 AA Highway. Her belongings, including her clothes and wallet, were inside it, but the keys were missing. Abercrombie left behind a husband and a young son; her husband was deployed in the military at the time she was last seen. Since her disappearance, there have been unconfirmed reports that she overdosed on drugs and the people who were with her disposed of her body to avoid criminal charges. Charles Chia, 8 years old and his sister, Jennifer Chia, 6 years old, exited their school bus near their home in Reno, Nevada on October 18, 1989. After exiting the bus, they were last seen walking across the street towards their apartment complex where their Grandmother was waiting for them. Their remains were located on July 25, 1990 in Blairsden, California which is approximately 60 miles west of the Reno area. One of the most extensive searches in the county was completed by the surrounding law enforcement agencies. The children's pictures were placed on billboards, fliers, buttons and a television reenactment was aired. Amongst the many tips provided over the years, a witness reported seeing a brown van back into the turnout of the highway where the children’s remains were found. The van was observed about the same law enforcement believes the children died. The only identifying information provided on the van was that it had a Miller gear shift knob. Convicted felon, James Grooms was sentenced to prison for trying to extort $100,000 from the children’s mother and remains a suspect in the case.
